At Jacobus Consulting, Dan provides business process redesign expertise and education for our consultants and clients. He is also an expert in hospital revenue recovery, charge capture, and charge master applications.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dan began his healthcare career in Washington, D.C., in lobbying with the firm America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) – then known as the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA). At Jacobus, Dan provides leadership for business process modeling and re-engineering services and solutions, in both clinical and Revenue Cycle applications. In these areas, Dan has achieved multiple certifications as both an adept process modeler and a process-modeling tools and language educator. Based on his healthcare experience, Dan is a highly effective leader in helping providers to learn advanced process optimization tools and techniques and to apply them to mission-critical, complex processes. As an active member in the Business Process Modeling Institute community, Dan consistently seeks to enhance the applicability of business process modeling principles to the unique challenges of a healthcare environment.
Additionally, Dan provides significant experience in the realm of revenue recovery, charge capture and Charge Description Master (CDM) optimization, in applying re-engineering expertise to charge documentation/entry processes, and in assisting clinical departments with the attainment of auditing and reconciliation best practices. Further, Dan has applied his background in quantitative analysis toward the development of various Key Performance Indicator metrics within the revenue cycle, as well as the implementation of Balanced Scorecard initiatives at both the executive and managerial levels.
