Sandra is the founder and CEO of Jacobus Consulting – previously called Jacobs and Associates. Prior to Jacobs and Associates, Sandra worked for JJ Wild Consulting Co., Superior Consulting Co. and KMPG in the healthcare divisions. Sandra held leadership positions and also implemented healthcare software, delivered Revenue Cycle re-engineering projects, and provided change management, interim executive leadership and project management for several large, multi-facility healthcare organizations.
Before entering the consulting side of healthcare, Sandra spent more than 20 years in the healthcare industry, working with hospitals and physicians in finance, information technology, health information management, Revenue Cycle management, practice management, quality management, project management and patient access services. During this time, Sandra was a member of the Advisory Council for HCFA (now CMS), working in collaboration with Blue Cross/Blue Shield to develop the Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) system with AHIMA. She also worked with several large organizations that came together to develop methodologies for Revenue Cycle re-engineering in the 1980s, before “revenue cycle” was a buzz phrase in the healthcare industry, and developed standards and methodologies that are viable today. Sandra also was chosen from among several thousand candidates as a member of the Advisory Board for the development of the Office of Inspector General Compliance Program. Sandra has held several offices within the Washington State Health Information Management Association, American Health Information Management Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
