Meaningful Use Roadmap and Assessment
The road to “meaningful use” is complex and demands strategic planning combined with strong oversight of complex, multi-disciplinary projects. While objectives such as improved patient safety and quality of care are primary drivers, to maximize reimbursement the systems and process improvements must be designed up front with an eye towards meaningful use criteria.
Jacobus assists providers prepare to successfully demonstrate criteria by providing the following Meaningful Use Planning and Assessment services:
- Evaluation of the current IT portfolio, including MEDITECH applications, interfaces, and planned projects to determine strategy
- Assessment of the current systems build, analysis of critical processes, and organizational structure, staffing and skills
- Identification of major opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Strategic planning to standardize and automate Clinical Documentation and Evidence Based Medicine.
- Priority recommendations and identification of alternatives and decisions to prepare for a major EMR/meaningful use initiative.
- Meaningful Use risk identification of current state gaps to criteria with a roadmap forward to maximize incentive payments and meet criteria.
- Follow-on project planning – including scope, structure, schedule, risks, resources needs, and major budget implications. From the plan the facility can immediately move into project execution mode.
The Jacobus Meaningful Use Assessment and Roadmap can be combined with Readiness Assessment and Process Redesign services to rapidly accelerate a facility forward for transformation of clinical systems and to full utilization of the Electronic Medical Record.
